Maths is a very interesting subject. It may be fun for some, whereas some may consider it a nightmare. Simply put, Maths is not just all about addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. There is more to it. Kids begin learning Maths from a very early age than we might think. Year 1 Maths acquaints children to learn basic functions of Arithmetic.
Year 1 Maths is a very alluring subject for young minds. The Australian curriculum of year 1 Maths are designed in a simple and plain manner. In Year 1 Maths, kids learn about counting numbers, simple addition and subtraction, multiplication, division, word problems and time knowledge, number patterns, shapes and spaces, etc.

Mathematical & Numeracy Fundamentals.(As per the Australian Curriculum)

  • Mathematical and numeracy fundamentals.
  • Thinking skills (which is also referred to as general ability skills)

English(As per the Australian Curriculum)

  • Literacy skills (Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, Spelling, Reading, Writing, Punctuation, phonics one writing topic per week which includes one Speaking Assessment Rubric).
  • Comprehension skills (Two comprehensions per week)
  • Writing skills across varying text types viz. informative text, creative text, argumentative text, poetry, plays(One page of writing &One writing exercise per week)
  • Reading skills: Reading one page everyday as per the guidance & the instruction of the English Tutor Our courses provide the ideal combination of challenges for us to gain an understanding of each student’s capacity, so we can refine our focus and ideally, help build that student’s foundation to perform well in Year 1 and beyond.
